Well, the side fence was nice for the few months that it was up.  Now we are back to a temporary so they can move material in and do the grading for what used to be the driveway.

Finally, the wooden temporary stairs that we have been living with for 9 months are replaced with the final product.

The yard is relatively junk free for the first time in 11 months!

We finally got other things settled enough to deal with the broken down concrete work on the front porch.  My speculation was that this was yet another half-assed 'my cousin can do that fer ya' job and I was right.

Looks like they just poured half and inch of concrete over loose gravel and called it done.  In fact, it isn't even gravel – it looks like chinking out of an incenerator.  Heck there is even some pumice looking stuff like you would see along a railway line. 

They didn't bother to compact the underlayment, grade the concrete so that water would flow away from the house (instead of just pooling) or cutting proper lines to deal with thermal expansion and contracting.

And like so many other thing, we get to fix it...
